Bridal interview with Jerry Morris
| How long have you been a photographer and why did you choose this profession? |
I’ve been as professional photographer for 30 years. I grew up with a darkroom in our basement and a father who loved dabbling in photography as a hobby. I was amazed how creatively using light and composition could alter the way we see things.
Now photographic tehniques and visualizing the image are second nature to me |
| We love your services and portfolio. Everything sounds great. So, can you tell me how you’re different from all the other photographers out there? |
| I am passionate about photography and believe that a great camera and equipment is only one of the many components that make an excellent photographer. I study lighting, composition, and my subjects to ensure the images I capture tell their story and even offer a few surprises. My passion is to make your wedding day special and as much fun as it is memorable. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and it is an honor to be included in it. |
| This all sounds so wonderful. But it also seems expensive. Are we going to be able to afford this? |
| There are few things that will remain after your wedding day. The band packs up and goes home, the flowers wither, the food and drinks are consumed, and the decorations are torn down. Your rings and photographs are the two places most wedding professionals recommend placing your investment. That is not to say you need to overdo it in these areas. I will always try work within your budgetary guidelines to provide you services that will meet your desires. |
Who do and don't you work with?
| Photography is my passion and I delight in capturing memories that will become even more valuable for my couples and their future generations as time passes on. This said, there are certainly some strong or clashing personality types that will not see the benefit of using an astute, detail-oriented photographer. I want the experience to be joyous and the outcome to be a breath-taking collection of shots. While I try to blend into the background and be as non-obtrusive as possible (especially for the candid shots), I will require your attention and willingness for some posed photographs. If you feel this might cause some abrasiveness, let’s talk about how we can work together, or perhaps I can offer you a referral. I don’t want anything to upset your special day. |
| Do you take credit cards and do you have a payment plan? |
| I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards and will work with you on a payment plan to fit your budget. |
| Do you take more than one wedding per day? |
No. When you hire me, I am exclusively yours for the duration of your event. I arrive on time and my attention is on you. You will not find me ducking out, double-booking events, or chatting or texting during your special occasion. It seems like these things should all be part of everyone’s customer service elements, but you’d be surprised by the horror stories I hear!
| This sounds exactly like what we’ve been looking for. So, how does the process work? |
We schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss all of your needs for your wedding and put together a schedule for the day. Oftentimes, an engagement sitting is the perfect opportunity to get to know one another and sample what it is like to work together. At that time we can discuss the packages and decide the best options for you.
| May we contact some of your former clients to see what it’s like to work with you? |
Yes, I can provide direct contact information for references, but I have also set up testimonial and sample pages for you to review at your convenience.
| We have a few more questions before getting started. Can I call or e-mail you to discuss this further? |
Yes, please do. You’ll find that I am timely and responsive. We can also go ahead and schedule an initial consultation and I can answer your questions then as well as provide you with additional samples of my work.
| Will I always have to track you down for more prints? |
No. With most wedding packages, you will own the copywright and a CD/DVD of all your images and are free to duplicate or disperse them
in any fashion you wish. |
| Will you travel for our wedding? |
I am an Atlanta-area photographer who is more than happy to accommodate your wedding destination. Please call with your individual details to discuss travel arrangements.
